Living with a pet: what makes a building pet-friendly

Beyond “pets allowed”: dedicated areas, rules and real community.

“Pets allowed” is the starting point, not the goal. A truly pet-friendly building has dedicated areas, clear rules for living together and a community that also lives with animals.

Read the written rules: how many pets are allowed, which areas they can use and how noise or elevator use is handled. Clear rules are not hostility — they are what prevents conflicts between neighbors and protects pet owners.

Look for the infrastructure: a pet zone, a grooming or washing point, nearby walking routes and outdoor spaces where pets can actually be. If none of that exists, the pet-friendly label is just marketing.

On Kontyr Leasing, buildings show their real rules and amenities, so you can know whether your pet will live as well as you do before you apply.
